How to solve

Inverse trig undoes the ratio: arcsin(x) asks 'which principal angle has sine x?'. Recall the special-angle table in reverse.

Steps

  1. Match the value to the special-angle table.
  2. arcsin and arctan answer in [−90°, 90°]; arccos in [0°, 180°].
  3. These drills use first-quadrant and boundary values.

Example

arcsin(1/2) in degrees?

  1. sin 30° = 1/2.
  2. So arcsin(1/2) = 30°.

Answer: 30

How to type answers

  • Answer in degrees, just the number
