How to solve
When a transversal crosses parallel lines, corresponding angles occupy the same corner at each intersection and are congruent.
Steps
- Confirm the two lines are marked or stated parallel.
- Match the angle in the same relative position at the other intersection.
- Set the corresponding angle measures equal.
Example
A transversal makes a 60° corresponding angle on the first parallel line.
- The marked angle on the second line is corresponding.
- Therefore x = 60°.
