Steps

  1. Differentiate each term.
  2. a sin x → a cos x.
  3. b cos x → −b sin x — the sign flips.

Example

d/dx of 3 sin x − 2 cos x

  1. 3 sin x → 3 cos x.
  2. −2 cos x → +2 sin x.

Answer: 3cos(x)+2sin(x)
