How to solve

A wrong graph usually flips the slope sign, moves the intercept, or both. Check steepness/direction and the y-intercept.

Steps

  1. From the equation, note m and b.
  2. Find the graph that crosses the y-axis at b.
  3. Confirm the tilt matches m (positive slopes rise left→right).

Example

y = 2x − 1

  1. y-intercept −1.
  2. Slope 2 (steep up).
